Those mosins aren't worth anything! (Round 7)

Here we go again, ladies and gents:

    1909 Izhevsk M1907 carbine goes for $3,726.

Stop me if you've heard his before, but nah, M/Ns aren't worth anything....

It's subtle and hard to miss, but it you look closely, you might be able to ascertain that I am indeed a fan.

      Hell yes.

I'd imagine it handles similar to the M38.

I'm sort of surprised it didn't go even higher.

Well in general Mosins arent worth anything (yet!).

Constantly posting rare exceptions doesn't prove otherwise.

These threads should be titled, 'if you have an extremely rare variant of a widely produced rifle, its worth more than the 91/30 everyone and their brother owns'

Geez.. unless you sell on Gunbroker. Look up 91/30 7 pages of overpriced wishful thinking...

For that kind of dough, I'd much rather buy a M1-D Garand, and have a few bucks left over.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Sure, the common refurb 42-43 Izhevsk 91/30 isn't worth much...but to extend that line of thinking to all 91/30s is false. Plenty of those pull 3-400, some even more than that.

There was a recent thread on the other forum of a 1892 Chatterault PL marked M91 that was bid over $4500. Cha-Ching $$$$$$ !

SOME Mosins are worth quite a bit, just like other rare surplus rifles. I'd love to get my hands on an unaltered 1896 US Krag rifle myself.

Good point. I started looking around to see how much a 91/30 is going for at the various surplus dealers and I couldn't find any in stock...

They are going to go up in price, after being imported for what 20 years easy, they have run out, no more to import, sure they might find a crate or two here and there but it will never be like it was, the day of the $69.99 bargain bin rifle is gone.
