    My Star model B

    Hi Guys,

Picked up my Star Model B from FFL yesterday. Gun is in good condition, nice shinny bore, and finish looks original not refinished, but grips are cracked and the additional mag that came with it has lot of rust; will call Century arms on Tue. How do I know the year it was made?

Attaching pics of the gun with out grips, let me know what you think.

    thanks

This site will give you a lot of good info on your new Star.

This page is the date code page

    Look around for more information
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Nice! I want one eventually. How much did you pick it up for from Century?

        I think it was $319 + shipping.

I heard that current Star Bs from J&G (they get theirs from Century) have been pretty beat up; maybe Century is scraping the bottom of the Star B barrel. The first batch looked great.

That sucks about the grips and extra mag, the rest of the pistol looks nice though.

Yes, pistol is very nice except grips and mag; hope century sends me replacement.

This is excellent grade Star B from century.

I actually planned on buying them from JG. Where did you hear about them pretty beat up? I'm curious now . Do you own one from JG?

                Thanks!

I got one of the early ones, it's in great shape. The batch they took one of the gun shows were beat up. Maybe they were trying to unload the ugly ones. Syntax Error has first hand knowledge of this.

What was the grade of the pistol? VG or X on the tag.

Wow it looks great! The one's currently listed on JG is G-VG condition. Hopefully Syntax Error will post here

Quick clarification. Is the model B in 9mm luger or 9mm largo?

J&G at the AZ SAR show las December had a bunch of Stars for sale and I went through about 10 of them but decided not to get one simce they all had various metal damage to the rear sights or other scratches or marrs that would annoy me too much if I did pick one up, so I passed.
