Commie CA laws are stupid. If one modifies the grip it make it legal. That just sounds stupid. If only DOJ would realize how dumb their definitions are. Thank God for Ca ingenuity.

FYI my rifle is not featureless and all I did to it was the grip mod. The stock is not pinned and the Pmag is blocked @ 10, thanks!

love this gun. want to build one just like it. can you list all the components in your build?

I decided to paint my blemished Hammerhead, and for some reason it took over my rifle and never stopped until all the goodies are gone then pulled my index finger to drop my mags.
Now range time will be next to see if he really belongs there![IMG][/IMG]

can someone explain to me what makes adding the finger grooves that resemble a pistol grip legal?

No, the law only tells you what makes something ILLEGAL. So no, I can't explain what makes something legal except to say "it's not illegal". :P

the fact that you cant wrap your thumb around it makes it legal.

Sure... Finger grooves have nothing to do with the definition of a pistol grip.

CA 11 CCR 5469(d) says "pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon" means a grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the trigger hand (between the thumb and index finger) can be placed below the top of the exposed portion of the trigger while firing.

As long as the grip keeps the web of your firing hand above the yellow line in the picture above, you could have finger grooves or no finger grooves as you like. It's not a pistol grip.

Actually you can wrap your hand around a Hammerhead grip, and the DOJ has testified that it's legal when used on a featureless rifle.

                              Featureless HK SL8

I bought my only featureless rifle a couple of weeks ago. So much easier to change out mags without the radlock/bullet button. Maybe I'll do an AR or AK in the near future.
