Irons would be a nice gift. For primary, I'd personally go with a carry handle or Daniel Defense. For back up, Magpul Pro (steel) buis.

For a folding rear iron sight, the all-metal Troy Rear Folding BattleSight cannot be beat at this current $59.99 price, and Primary Arms is great at fast shipping and customer service. It is not a spring loaded, but, manually operated.

      black:
Shop our huge selection of iron sights. AR-15 sights from top brands like Guntec, Magpul, Troy Industries & more. Offset Iron sights and BUIS for tons of rifles.

BTW, I am sure you will be satisfied with the PSA upper.

This! Forget plastic magpie stuff.. TROY is solid.

PSA makes good stuff. I have a similar upper but midlength gas. Flawless function. Stuck a troy rear, and a vortex razor red dot on it.

Consider this site, sling, BB, mags, nylon case

Aero Precision made upper. FN cold hammered barrel. L.W.Sneider LPK. Smith Enterprises Bolt assembly. Mostly gov't military contract mfg parts. Not high accuracy precision parts, but certainly a great quality and durable upper.

Here you go, I remembered seeing these during my build...https://dsgarms.com/mgmoekit3

Complete MOE kit would make a nice Christmas present.

That kit he bought will serve him well.

I have very little to no hands on experience with this platform, so I would appreciate any comments you might have on the kit's quality (or possible "must have" upgrades he needs. Does he need anything other than a bullet button and some 10rd Mags and some ammo? I was thinking on going to the O.C. Gun Show this weekend (entertainment purposes ). If I happen to run across anything he needs, I might pick it up for him, if it's a scream'in deal (unlikely). If not, I'll go online (I know, cheaper, lol)

Anyway, any thoughts on the kit he bought? Thanks for the feed-back.

This is a very good upper. With maybe the exception of the BGG (still getting a good BCG)... This is comparable to a Colt 6920 upper. The barrel on the PSA upper is made by FN... Enjoy!
