    AK Stock

Does anyone make a stock similar to this - For an AK platform.

Yes I realize that a Kalashnikov doesn't have a buffer tube. For trigger feel, its not bad in an AR configuration.

I'm looking to have a functional California legal stock to add to an AK platform or to purchase new rifles with out bullet buttons that fit Standard AK magazines. I can make a stock (fiber / wood - whatever) easily but I don't want to go down that road (I'm too old and it would be too costly to even consider) I have many, many magazines purchased prior to 1994. All my AW (Registered AKs) are getting a lot of ware and I want to update to newer platforms to continue to train with. Pics & a link would be great.

I've done some research but haven't found much that feel right with the AK trigger configuration / magazine changes are slower (For me) with a monster man type grip

All advise is welcome - I'm not interested in looks (Function over cosmetics)

Thanks in advance and have patience - I'm new here. Great forum by the way.

Thanks for the pic of the monster-man grip (Looks very nice) but I was hopping for a dedicated stock similar to the above link. I will go the monster-man route as a last resort.

Chewy is showing a grip wrap not a MM. You can only use a MM if you can find on with an adapter for AR to AK. Luckily I have one I'm thinking about getting rid of.

The position of the trigger guard in relation to the rear of the receiver precludes the AK pattern from having a setup like the Thorsdon stock.

Anything with enough room to wrap your thumb behind is going to be angled down far enough that it gets back into pistol grip territory.

Grip wraps or monsterman style fin grips are pretty much the only option due to the shape of the receiver.

A while back I did something like that, did not like it. Magazine lock is better.

Grip wrap, muzzle break, and call it a day.

Thanks for the pic. I hate mag locks - PIA.

I'm fortunate to shoot my AK's at the range and not be in a circumstance where I need more sustained fire or extra fast reloads.
With that said, I feel no rush in changing mags and natural ergonomics is more important for accuracy as I try to make every single shot count.
Trying to hold my grip like a amphibious monster is beyond irritating, no thanks. But to each its own.

If this was the world where we needed our rifles for something other than range, any of these (restrictions) would not be an issue worth discussing.

Well, I have been shot at twice, attempted mugging 3 times, Watched buildings burn & looted during the Rodney King Riots - Many within easy 308 range (We protected our buildings with (3) 1100 12 Gauge Shot guns - Full choke 28" barrels Left over from the Watts riots from the 60s (Grandfathers time) - (Nice pattern within our walls) & scoped 308s incase of a snipers taking shots at us while we were on the roofs - I fired several rounds of bird shot bouncing off the ground and hitting low life legs to keep molotov cocktails off our building) and 1 attempted car jacking. I'm Nobody / very lucky to be here and hope to continue. Im glad so many are so complacent. Yes I chose to continue to work in LA. - Believe it or not the city is improving even with the higher immigrant infestation.
Not trying to be aggressive or insulting but it blows my mind to see so many people complacent in thinking nothing will ever happen in the world we live in.

I apologize if I ruffled anyones feathers but I am still looking for more pics of grip and stock assemblies for California Compliant Ak variants.

I have been told that in a riot situation that AK mag locks have been known loosen and either slide back or fall off of certain rifles...although I have no personal experience with this happening
