That's the one Turners has listed for $899, that front gas block is stupid should have put one with a rail as the one review on Turners mentioned

I'm on the list for this rifle also , What would you need that rail for? If you put a scope on the front.

              You sir, are awesome.

Now if the other 99% of posters asking simple questions would follow your lead and do some research, we would have a genuine forum miracle !!

Can you add a flip up from sight to the gas block on this gun?
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Doesn't look like it, it's a low pro without any rails. For a front sight, you'd need to replace the handguard with a free float setup.

I bought one back in May (SKU 90890), when prices were starting to come down. But I still paid almost $200 more for it than what Turner's is selling them for now.

The first thing I did, other than mount the optic, was to put on a Magpul MOE handguard - Just more comfortable to me as compared to the OEM round one.

I did not care about a rail on the gas block since I planned on using this gun for longer range (at least longer range than my eyes can effectively shoot using iron sights). I don't recall whether it came with a 5 or 10 round mag - No big deal really since 10 round mags are cheap.

It has been a solid rifle during the 2 range trips I have made with it. I have shot it off bench rest bags only. As far as "similar" rifles I can compare it to, I bought an FNAR at about the same time. While the Bushy has been acceptably accurate (sorry, I don't have any real numbers for you), its accuracy does not really compete with that of the FNAR (nor will any general AR10 platform rifle in this price range). Took a little more time to get it zeroed at 100 yards. But then shooting steel plates out to about 300 was no big deal.

While the FNAR is just a little picky with ammo (a few rounds have needed 2 strikes), the Bushy has digested every round without an issue. To date I have mostly shot XM80 through these guns, with just a bit of Herters steel case mixed in - Neither of these rounds is marketed for, or is known for its inherent accuracy. I've got some Match ammo since then, but have not been back to the range with it.

Folks always seem to talk about S&W's M&P10 being so light for a .308 platform rifle. I've never handled one. The Bushy is heavy (as .308's are), but doesn't seem overly so in any way, and balances well (just a bit heavy at the front, which is what I want in this type of gun).

All in all, no regrets buying the Bushmaster.

Thanks. Optic is a Nikon ProStaff 3-9 x 40. Mount is ??? These are nothing special - The optic I had bought when someone had them on sale cheap w/free shipping, and the mount was a generic AR15 mount which was in my bin-o-AR parts (IIRC originally FDE, but now painted flat black).
