Muzzle Device - throwing sound forward

I'll admit, my Google-fu sucks.

I'm looking for reviews and opinions of various muzzle devices that throw the sound forward (NOT suppressors) away from the shooter's ear.

I've seen the Levang style linear comps, and krink style, but nobody seems to do any actual decibel reviews (at the shooter's position).

Can any of you give a good word about these types of items? Or a bad word? Like "it was noticeably quieter, but it caused lots of fliers at 100 yards" something that would give a guy an idea how they actually perform.

I have this one being shipped to me right now. But actually the 308 one. for my grendel build. Dont want my ears blown off while hunting coyotes haha. All the reviews on there seem positive!

When outside I can't tell any difference between the pistol and the 16" rifle.
Inside I can.

Assuming you mean on an AR. If so, these reviews may help a little but they don't measure sound. Look at the Noveske Flaming Pig reviewed in part 5. It's made to push everything forward.

If I was shooting by myself, I wouldn't bother with it but if you are shooting at the range, it is a benefit for the others on the line to have the blast directed forward instead of sideways at them with a standard muzzle brake - I think it is worth the price . . .

Here's the cheapest way to 'throw the sound foward.' I don't believe any of the other muzzle devices mentioned would provide a significant or perceptible difference vs a bare muzzle.

Have a Kineti-tech on the 7.62x39 AR. Not much difference between it and a bare barrel, but noticeably less blast when the shield is on vs only the brake

I have found that it really depends on the length of barrel you are using.
The shorter the barrel the less effective these things are IMO.
Example; I use the Levang on my 20" coyote rifle and it really works quite well for me. Put one on a 16" barrel and it seems to not have such a noticeable effect. 16'' and shorter just plain hurt to shoot sans ear pro.
I have not noticed any changes in group sizes.
If you want to experiment I suggest you start with the Levang because it's cheap.

The people who believe these work do not understand how sound works. You can redirect the concussion, not the sound.
