Okay not "banned" just can't be imported anymore.

Of course saigas will be back one way or another. Saigas have gone up but I refuse to pay anything over 650 for a Saiga due to the times. Before I wouldn't pay a dime over 400 unless it was a great one.

I think it has yet to be proven if the import ban can actually be avoided and more rifles made available, or if the new company will simply be added to the ban list in the near future.

If you must have one I'd grab it now, but there seems to be enough of them floating around that I'd stick to about $600-$650 max for a Saiga and $800-$850 for a Vepr.

I don't understand either. The idea is that you buy a Saiga for $400 or less, throw in the conversion parts for about $200-300 depending on what you want, do the work and you get an AK exactly the way you want it for $700. If I'm anywhere else in the country I'll buy an Arsenal SLR instead of a $800 unconverted Saiga.

i think if calguns had some type of post quota for new users to be able to utilize the classifieds section, it would prevent a lot of the "gun flippers" from coming on here and trying to gouge us. Let them view the classifieds and PM the sellers. But, they cannot post until they reach 35 posts or something.

OP those pistols are a 'grey area'. Just buy several muzzle loaders. Keep them loaded and stash them in various locations in the truck, like mel gibson in the patriot. Or buy a lever action or a .22.

I also think people selling saigas for a profit are AHs..... unless they donate to the DNC in exchange for a tax payer funded government contract, then it is perfectly acceptable. Capitalism is for suckers. Crony socialism is the truth and the light.

You can't deny people from making money. People will figure out a way to make money. Basically the Russians shuffled around some paper work and continue to take our money.

The lesson here is to never panic buy. A lot of people are going to be stuck with Saigas they overpaid for. $800 is just crazy especially when an Arsenal SLR can be ad for about $1,000 in a free state.

And vp9's are 500 in reno gun stores, what's free state got to do with it?

Since certain arsenals are banned by name in California, if you want a really nice new-productiom russian ak, you have to make it out of a saiga or vepr.

If it weren't for free states balancing the supply and demand, they might cost 899 in california. Who knows.

The fact that online retailers have to sell to places that also carry arsenals keeps prices on saigas down, because if they get too high, the buyer might as well.get an Arsenal.
