nope, don't care for it. I just shot one this weekend. it shot nice but the controls were awkward and difficult to utilize. it might be nice for around $1k but at it's current price point I don't think it's a good value.

I've put about 500 rounds through mine and the controls have loosened up (safety selector is real stiff to start). As a lefty, having the right side selector is nice, but about 25% of the time, I would still use my trigger finger to disengage it and often used my trigger finger to engage it. having dual bolt releases made it easy to drop the bolt with either hand, likewise with the multiple mag releases.

I really enjoyed the changing handle being in the AK position (AR is too far back for me to charge shouldered with the support hand without hitting myself, so I would use my firing hand instead). With the mid-position charging handle set up for support hand usage (right or left), charging doesn't require reaching over/under or rotating the gun for access. As a lefty, left-side ejection was the least important thing for me except that it does make it easier to eject a live round into your left hand while racking the bolt back with your right. but it is cool for people to see brass flying from theri right to left, they aren't used to that.

I do like the dual extractor design and the multi-caliber kits they are coming out with. The barrel was freakishly thin which seems would heat up very quick and start to throw the groups. Overall it seemed well made but still too plastic. I know that polymer has proven itself reliable but there is something about paying almost $2k for a piece of plastic... doesn't sit well with me.

If I was a righty, I'd probably agree with you, but as a lefty, I was tired of "working around" a right-handed design and figuring out manipulations to overcome the shortcomings, or hang more accessories on it to make it lefty-friendly.

I spent 2 days at SHOT looking at all the "new generation" rifles to find the "best" lefty-friendly rifle I could find and the ARX was it. Everybody else has something missing. For instance, the SCAR is pretty good, but it only has a left side bolt release (and doesn't look like a BAD lever could be implemented onto it easily).

Myself being left eye dominate, I fire my rifles lefty and I concur. My AR has been accessorized with ambidextrous modifications just so I can manipulate the weapon system easier. However, I just recently acquired a good ole' fashion AK variant rifle and surprisingly it is left handed friendly enough for me!

Mind posting up pictures of your ARX100?

              Thanks!

exactly. on a rifle that has FIVE magazine releases, why would I want to run it maglocked?

i'm a lefty. I refuse to use left handed weapons, guitars, etc... I feel that it handicaps us. I force myself to work around the item. I see it as a challenge, I need to up my skill/understanding to beat the item or object. it's worked well for me so far.

I don't necessarily disagree with you here. I've been doing that for 40+ years myself. It was just when I decided I wanted a new-fangled rifle that wasn't an AR, I decided to play the "lets get the best lefty-friendly rifle I can get". I have always refused to buy a lefty-only firearm since I like to let my friends shoot my stuff.

oh, right on. I didn't really have a choice with guns, the military doesn't care if i'm a lefty or not. They said use this... and I did.
