Charging Handle Recomendations

Hi Everyone,

I'm in the process of replacing/upgrading various components on my AR-15 and I am hoping for some guidance when it comes to selecting a good, quality charging handle. Can anyone recommend one to me and what should I be looking for before I drop $50 to $100 on that component? Should I even consider replacing/upgrading my charging handle?

If you want something with more room to grab on the left side, bcm gunfighter medium. If you want ambi, rainier arms raptor. If you don't care, leave it stock. The factory charging handle works just fine.

I have both the bcm gunfighter med and also the Rainer raptor but build after build I always seem to fall back in love with my standard CH.

As long as you can get your hand on it, the standard is fine.

If you got money to burn....

You can always add an extended latch to the standard one too.

I've found the ambi charging handles much easier to use. I have both the BCM ambi, and the raptor. The raptor is easier to quickly grab, but the BCM ambi is good too.
My prefs:
1) Raptor
2) BCM ambi
3) bcm med/large charging handle
4) std handle

I've tried a lot of them. I currently have nothing but Raptors since they make it so much easier to grab and manipulate the charging handle. Much easier to hold the bolt back, charge from awkward positions and just use in general.

If your ar is for range use a standard ch is all you'll ever need. For classes , competitions, 3gun, home defense I'd go with a BCM mod 4 medium. If you wait for a holiday sale primary arms usually sells them for 35.00

If you decide on getting a Raptor, beware of counterfeits.
They are out there.

Gunfighter med, for range, classes, hd, plinking. I've heard good things about the raptor too.
