The picture of the one you linked is the first gen model.

AIM has the 2nd gen one here:

They are supposed to be great, and you get cowitness with AK irons.

              Now I want a 1st gen! That's awesome.
I wonder if it will work with the OPAPs SVD style side rail?

IIRC the reason they stopped making the gen 1 where because of the clamping design. It will eventually work harden the metal and crack. A camming design is far superior. IMHO the MI (Mid West Industries) with the ADM (American Deference Mount) is an awesome mount for the 30mm Aimpoint and their 1913 rail over the RS because of the lesser number of points joined by screws ie "less monkey motion going on".
                Can DI AR's run dirty?

I have had one of these for years and really like it.

The only reason I am recommending it over yours is because it can save you a little money, if you're into that.

Does ADM make a side rail mount for AK platforms?

I tried going on their site but couldn't find anything. Obviously they make ones for flattop rails, just wondering if you've seen an ADM AK side mount system.

Midwest Industries makes the rail and use ADM locking mechanism. MI makes a couple of different ak side mounts. A 30mm Aimpoint, 1" and 30mm scope mounts and a flattop 1913 railhttp://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID= 433

Yes, well aware of the MI side mount, but was unaware that ADM made the locking mechanism for it. Gotcha now. I've been considering picking up a MI sidemount and I've liked the ADM products that I do have, so even more incentive to pick one up for one of my Aimpoint PROs.

IIRC ADM doesn't actually make the locking mechanism for MI. MI is paying them royalties to use their IP.
