It is brand new. Wrenching it alone didn't move it. I set my torque wrench to 100 and it came off with a bit of effort

According to wrenching 'old knowledge', you're not supposed to use a torque wrench to loosen anything. Only tighten. Supposedly you'll hurt the wrench...Only thing I can think of, is bouncing on the torque wrench to get something off. That could break something. Big rachet or breaker bar is preferred.

How did you break the vise?

I was able to get it off last night after heating it up, thanks guys.

I had not noticed but I had also damaged my ejection port door, and had to order another one last night. That was another 12 or so bucks down the drain.

I will post picks of the vice and upper when I get around to finishing it.

Why was the upper receiver unsatisfactory in the first place?

OP probably just wants to install a rail...
Or possibly wants to use a billet upper..

Nothing wrong with a PSA upper they are made from good forgings

Nothing was wrong with upper its a very clean forging and anodizing job.

But I have a couple matched Mega sets that I need to use. The upper lined up and fit the lower perfect, I even thought of just using but Mega uses some kind of different anodizing becuase Mega forgings are really dark.

So yes the not matching bugs me, I just hope I can keep from dropping it on the carpet
