    The M1A is good rifle, but the OP wants an AR10 style rifle. If he has another M1A then he would have two fine rifles.

      If it's not about money there is no question that the SCAR is a very fine rifle. I've had mine for a couple years. Very accurate, very reliable, runs clean, and is very light. Only problem I ran into was that the trigger does not live up to the price tag and quality of the rest of the rifle. There are three aftermarket trigger now available however. I use the Geissele.
