    Accurate?

Just wondering if anybody has ever tried their AR over a rest at 100yrds to see how accurate it is?
    How accurate is it?

With my fulton/DPMS .308 I can put bullets in the same hole or atleast have them touch at 100.

It depends on the AR and the nut behind the trigger. But yes, ARs can be extremely accurate at 100yds and beyond. Many people are under the impression that being a semi auto military style rifle and not a bolt action, that they aren't very accurate. Completely false.

Big Bear City huh? That range only goes to 100yds! I used to ride my Mt. bike there. (not with a gun though) and used to shoot there on occasion.

            Guys... those are good groups!
I get the impression that a lot of AR owners don't care much about accuracy.
Seems like many are more concerned with the appearance of their guns.

The AR platform is very accurate -- you just must try all the bullet weights that go with your rifle's twist until you find the one your baby "likes"

Ad these are good groups. The AR shoots a very lightweight bullet and at 100 yards wind will be a factor.

                Only accurate rifles are interesting.

                        AR-15 Accuracy

It's hard to believe but the AR-15/M16A2 can hit targets at 300 yds with iron sights We used to have to shoot at 300 yds pop up targets for BRM (Basic Rifle Marksmanship) in the military. That was a little green blob way out there in the range. City slickers like myself were not as accurate as some folk that live out in the country. No fancy optics during the late 90's...all iron sights. Rifles looked plain back then (no rails or forward grips, nothing "tacticool") but did their job killin' commies and the like.

k heres some pictures from earlier this week. My .308 AR is still getting broken in and Im a n00b to handloading, so I expect groups to get tighter with time. Here, the 1st 3 shots clustered around eachother and the other 2 nearby with the 168 gr AMAX

Here, the 1st shot went way low somehow, and the next four were all touching. 110 gr VMAX
