Are these High-end AR rifles worth the crazy premium, or just a nice AR?

I own an exotic AR with a carbon fiber wrapped barrel and I can tell you unless you shoot matches you are better off with a PSA or something cheaper with the savings going to ammo.

A lot of it is for the show (off). I'm never going to sit on a bench and shoot 77gr match grade ammo and pet myself on the back after I achieve 0.5 MOA. Some people buy guns to make themselves feel better and some people buy guns to shoot them. If I rally want a sub MOA gun, I'd just spend $500 on a Mossberg MVP but I wanted a fancy gun.

Ive been having similar thoughts concerning buying a Krebs KV-13. Every other AK out there goes BANG. Why pay for the price of almost 3 other AKs for one 'high end' model?

The answer is some parts are superior, function is slightly enhanced (if a competent smith is putting it together, which Krebs definitely qualifies as) but ultimately its not THAT MUCH better than others. I just want one cuz theyre awesome.

That's why you shoot from position so you can pat yourself on the back for shooting sub-MOA.

If you listen to a carbine instructor who oversees millions of rounds fired through ARs on his range every year, they will tell you there is a difference. No reason to be that guy just because you don't know. You have custom machining, R&D, hand fitting, qc checks, etc.

This is a tough one. Not sure you can make one statement to stop them. I'd say let them be.

I own a few AR's, a few were assembled by me with not so expensive parts (except the trigger), while I also have a JP that two posters have already mentioned above. I like them all, and yes, the JP is one fine AR, but I must say that I like one of the ones that I assembled better for about half the price of a JP. Not a JP hater here at all. I like the product. It is also a head turner and people line up to shoot one if you let them and they will be pleased. But one can really build a high quality one for less. The variable is if they want to.

Bingo! I have beater rifles that i have ~$700 into, and "boutique" type guns at almost $6k.

I love them equally, but differently

I bet the dude that saved up to buy his 1 dream rifle, that he shoots and maintains, turns out to be a lot happier than the dude that ends up buying a bunch of PSA value builds.
I don't think it's about the rifle.
