Engraving and anodizing a lower in the East Bay

Okay. I posted this in the gunsmithing forum and got no help so maybe somebody here will know: I have a lower that I finished from an 80% (Tactical Machining) and I want to get it engraved and anodized. Anyone have any recommendations for good places to get this done?

I would prefer to not just walk into a random trophy shop. I would like a place that is 2A friendly if possible. Also, I have heard some horror stories about a few metal finishing shops so I really want to make sure that gets done right too.

I'm looking for places in the East Bay, preferably somewhere along 680 from about Martinez south to Fremont or east along 580 to about Livermore. If there is somewhere in that area then great but if I have to travel a bit further, I am okay with that.

I found a few places through google but I am not the most mechanically inclined person so I really can't tell the difference between one or the other. Anyone know a good place to go? Need to get this done before Kevin DeLeon bans all my 30 caliber clips and ghost guns.

Search engraving/anodizing on the main/home page. You'll get lots of results. But we just got done doing a group anodizing batch. Here's the link with info on the anodizer and some engraving..

Turners in San Jose for engraving. Talk to Tom. There's another guy in walnut creek, you can search for him here..good luck.

I will definitely check Pete out for the anodizing job after I get the engraving situation sorted out.

I will try to find the guy in Walnut Creek. That is close to where I work so that would be more of an ideal situation than driving to San Jose. I will keep Tom in mind though. Did you mean Tanners? http://www.tannersengraving.com/index.html I couldn't find a Turner's in San Jose.

Is Turners actually Tanners or are they two different shops? Everyone recommends Turners and although I haven't seen any examples of their work I have spent a lot of time researching engraving in the bay area and there are very few shops that will do quality work on a lower. They either do only light engraving, poor quality rough edge engraving, or won't work on a firearm, especially a 100% receiver. If anyone finds a shop somewhere further north than San Jose I'd love to hear about it too.

The anodizing work that crazyalskn mentioned from the group we just did is top notch. Worth the drive to fremont if you can't find something closer to the east bay. That's another thing you might have trouble finding is a good anodizer with an FFL.
