Upper Advice

I'm stuck on which upper I should purchase for my AR build. Right now I'm leaning towards a Spikes 14.5" with BAR 12" rail, but I've heard lots about other companies like BCM, DD($$$) and even PSA.

Anyone got some advice?

Looks just as good as 99% of the uppers out there lol. If the barrel length and rail suit your needs, buy it?

I just got the Spikes 14.5" mid, and it is f'ing great. Fit, finish, performance... all good.

Spikes is great bang for the buck. BCM makes some really nice stuff too. They've always treated me right.
As for the rail- you planning on mounting anything to it? If not consider regular handguards (save a few bucks) or something like the new keymod rails. Those quad rails are like cheese graters without covers.

What Noveske are you going to get for $799 that's equipped like the Spikes with BAR rail? You are mistaken. You can't even get a COMPLETE BCM railed upper for $799.

I was kinda thinking the same can you even get a standard m4 type noveske upper with no rail for that?

It's just my two cents but might I suggest subscribing to the "Save some money and know your rifle" mentality and say build a hybrid upper of your own from parts? There are tons of lovely uppers out there that will undoubtedly serve you well but piecing it together just makes it seem so much more personal.

To me, at least, though I'm hardly an expert.

I have both, for the price spikes is a bargain, good cs and quality upper.

Spikes is decent but that rail is hideously thick.
