    Also perhaps the billet receiver is machined flat and most accurately and sits perfectly flat causing no rattle between upper and lowers? Just my thought. I do believe there is a difference in forged vs billet other than coolness factor

      Mstn may have some noveske barrels in stock but can tell you their lw barrels don't shoot as well hot as their bulls. For comp shooting they are fine, not so much for tactical/ precision

          I'm not going to spend enough time to fully explain the engineering behind your question. The reason they use forging in the first place is that it was the cheapest way to manufacture this weapon for defense department. Forgings are what they call Near Net Shape. They are not nearly as geometrically perfect as solid Billet. Also check out the unpredictable thermal characteristics of forgings vs. Billet.
