Not at all. Unless you think lobbing .300 rounds like they're mortars is flat shooting. The 6.5 Grendel far outperforms the .300 AAC at any range much less 1,000 yards. I question whether the .300 can even reliably reach 1,000 yards. The 6.5 Grendel is for distance and energy downrange out of the AR-15 platform. The .300 Blackout is ideal for hard hits out of suppressed weapons (subsonics) at short ranges using the AR-15 platform. And yes, I own both and really like both for different uses.
Straight from the mouth of the project lead at AAC "The 300 BLK and 6.5 (Grendel) could not be more opposites. While I see some merit in comparing 300 BLK to 6.8, I see little for comparing it to 6.5 - which is even longer range capable than 6.8.
I see 300 BLK as replacing the MP7, MP5, 10 inch barrel HK-416, Mk18, and for hunting and self-defense with an AR when you want 30 caliber bullets but don't want the size/weight, and expense of an AR10."
