    polymer 80%

Anyone had any experience with any of these? Are there good brands and bad brands? Has anyone tried the Ares arms poly 80% lower?

Bought 2 polymer 80% made by polymer 80 in vacaville have yet to mill them out but they feel pretty solid and of good quality. Seen some youtube reviews of them and haven't seen anything bad about them. Can't wait to mill mines still need a XY vise.

i ordered 2 EP jigless polymer 80%ers, i just got them today so i will not have them built and tested for a week or two but they feel pretty strong just squeezing the magwell and various areas. Supposedly they are kevlar reinforced polymer and are reinforced with extra material where previous poly lowers would break.

Just bought 2 EP lowers. I've done aluminum 80% lower before but curiosity got the best of me with these poly lowers. Want to build some pistols and at $65 a pop its a hard price to pass up .

Why? Looking at them on the website the ep lower looks as close to mill spec as possible while. The polymer 80 looks i dunno stylized to look gnarlier. Is there a specific reason the polymer80 is better for you or that the ep just didnt stack up?

I think the EP is just an exact copy of a standard lower, where as the p0lymer8o has been reinforced at certain places for additional rigidity and strength.

Have you had any issues at all with either? Are both lowers finished and now complete rifles?

Look in the gunsmith section and check the reviews of the e p lowers.

having a polymer80 sitting unfinished in the closet, it looks far more difficult to finish correctly than i expected. you'll need more than a hand drill and a vise to do it right.

on the other hand, it seems like excellent quality, high durability, and small enhancements made in design.

Should be pretty easy with a Dremel and 1-2 hours.

I was thinking of making a .22 pistol with no buffer tuber using some taccom parts. Any thoughts or should i swith to the rimfire section?

Their lowers are fine it's just their marking for where to drill the holes are not. Just measure on your own ahead of time and drill your holes, ignore their marks.
