    Can't do it. Can't use a Tac vest :(

Had one for a couple years now and I just couldn't get used to it. Bought it to hold my rifle mags. I've taken it out a number of times thinking practice makes perfect but I just don't like it. Pulling mags up, especially AK47 mags, is a pain and awkward for me. I also don't like the way the heavy padded shoulder strap gets between the rifle stock and my chest. I freaking rape that rifle and get WAY over the top for more control. Strap felt like it was in the way every time I shouldered up.

I used play a lot of paintball for many many years. My standard rig was all from a compression belt at hip level around my back. Pulling crap from my chest was never something I did. Pulling from my back hips was muscle memory I developed over 18+ years. Out of curiosity I pulled out my old P-ball belt with 6 guppy pouches and dropped in some AK47 mags and ran some quick mag change drills in the living room. Wow what a difference. Felt natural and easy. Vest is going in the closet and I need to start building a tac belt based off of my old P-ball rig. Think I'll only go 4 mag pouches because 6 felt to heavy.

Anyone who plays ball try this? What do you think?

    Rig is like this....

Rig looks like this while on. My pouches are horizontal not vertical like in the pic. Allows great movement while running, crouching and prone. Everything is out of the way.

Mag pouches just aren't the same. My P-ball pouches are on their side and mags pull straight forward. Its a very fast fluid motion to swipe your hand from back to front a strip out a mag. The compression belt holds everything super tight on the waste too.

Lol, I guess if that works for you. You should get one without the tank holder though

HSGI makes a belt pack with horizontal pouches.

The Sniper Waist Pack was designed to be attached directly to a belt and developed with direct input from scout sniper instructors. The goal was a product the user could not lose or take off in case of an immediate E&E, giving them enough ammo/food/medical supplies to make it home.End pockets are open end to end.

Maybe try a MOLLE belt and mount your pouches sideways, just make sure they have good retention. I know S.O. Tech used to make an adaptor to turn it 90 degrees or just lace it up with zip ties.

DYE turtle packs are a OK idea but sucks if you have to go urban prone or lay on your back. Look into HSGI belt pouches

Yeah, just use what works better for you. I never enjoyed using chest rigs either.

You need to look into HSGI taco pouches and leg rigs.

Pick one and train relentlessly until its second nature. Only time will increase proficiency.

                            2 Rules:

                            1. Perfect practice makes perfect

                            2. The only difference between a black belt and white belt is the amount of dirt and sweat on the belt which only come with time in training.
