    My 243 AR10

Just finished my Noveske based AR10!

Armalite 243 T barrel turned down to .750 gas block, .740 forward. Shortened to 22in & bead blasted.
    Sampson gas block.
Leupold 4.5x14 LR / Leupold MK 4 rings.
    JP float tube.
    Geissele DMR trigger inbound.

After a little fun the Leupold is being sent off for M1 dials.

That's very classy. Clean & simple and I like the green, is the gas block green also? Details count, right? You've pretty much built what I'd like to do next. If you're interested, Hahn makes a nice solid AR riser that has no side crews or knobs. Mimics the profile of the flat top, I don't know if covers the longer AR 10 receiver though.

No the Gas block is flat black. I like the YHM risers, they are simple and nothing really protrudes. I have the GG&G rail on a AR 15 build. With the extra space on the AR 10 the rail is not needed for me.

Just curious why you chose .243?

An AR-10 is definitely in my future. Just can't decide for sure if I want to go with .308 or pick something more exotic.

Well, I wanted a caliber for varmit shooting at longer range as well as for target shooting. I will be building another in 308, but it will be a chrome lined barrel for higher volume blasting.

              Very Nice!! Im envious.

I continue to wait to get my AR10 parts from a certain smith. Thinking about abandoning that path and going for an N6 and one of the Armalite sale uppers. Oh well.......

Might have a bull barrel and stripped AR10 upper for sale soon

I go back and forth on a 243 WSSM build on a standard AR lower.

Nice build. I'm going to rock VTAC handguards one day.

I'm curious about your scope. Is it a 40mm obj lens?

Very nice, been thinking about building a 243 for awhile, 308 is just so boring, especially in an AR.

                    Scope looks like a VX-III 4.5-14x40

Correct 4.5x14 x40 LR, 30mm tube with side focus. Have never seen the need for a 50 or larger objective.

Why not just get another upper for that lower? I have 2 uppers for my N6. I have a Timney 308 trigger in the lower and it gets very expensive quickly. The Timney cost $206, $400 for the N6 lower, $55 for the ArmaLite LPK (less trigger) and $65 for the ArmaLite A2 stock kit. Unless you have the need or really want 2 rifles, just get another upper. I can change uppers in about 10 seconds.

If you really want 2 separate rifles, you could always start with the upper and then get the lower built later. The only worry would be the availability of N6 lowers. There is talk that other companies will be making ArmaLite compatible lowers so the price will come down when that happens.

I really like the JP Vtac.

How much did that set you back if you dont mind me asking. And is that a 22 inch barrel or a 22 inch gas system?
