Whether or not they actually WANT to is irrelevant, it is currently illegal and unconstitutional for them to do so. What you should be more concerned about are the real world piece-by-piece that make it harder and harder to continue exercising our rights and hobbies, i.e. limiting magazines, ammo, parts, etc. Not an illegal fantasy hypothetical confiscation scenario.
