What do you think about this one? Your input is very appreciated. Range plinker for 100-300yards, 1000rd/year
The price is a bit over my budget, but upper is somewhat ok.

Out of curiosity, do you have a reason for wanting a piston upper as opposed to a DI upper? Going DI will give you significantly more options and generally save you $150 on that type of upper. PSA runs their midlength deluxe upper for $400 on special, and I think $450-500 with charging handle and BCG when they have a really good special. That would be my inclination in your place.

Just sign up for their emails, you'll regular emails with the specials they are having everyday, sometimes two or three times. That's how I got my PSA upper.

Build one yourself. No true need for piston. At 100-300rds like you said even AR pistols play well at that range. Now if your pushing to 1000yds, well a different caliber is more ideal.

My biggest concern - it's not high pressure and/or magnetic particle tested, no weight info, no gas system info, not 158 bolt.
They say with YHM rifle size rail it may be on a heavy side.

The only reason I haven't yet bought this is due to the fixed front sight. I want to put a scope on the rifle, so the front sight will look a little redundant. May be I should buy it and remove the sight?

So the main concern with this upper is the fixed front sites? Does anyone have any experience with these "ultra-lightweight" uppers? My problem is I don't actually see a weight on there. And is the CHF worth the $50-$100 price difference?
