Maybe so, but how did you do the first time?

OP, nice job, keep practicing and those will tighten up quickly.

I'm still kinda' new to the AR platform and it's a lot of fun learning what you can do as you start reaching a little further.

Good job, OP for making the jump. Keep practicing and you'll be hitting out to 500 yards in no time!

If I may make a suggestion, get rid of the scope riser and those rings and get some rings that are the proper height so the objective lens clears the handguard. This will allow you to actually get a proper cheek weld, that alone (coupled with less parts that can shift on you) will tighten your group up a lot. Additionally I would recommend you ditch the bipod as your handguard is not free floated (not needed) and pick up a 10/30 magazine, this will let you use the magazine as a monopod and this will improve your accuracy as well.

I second the vote to attend an Appleseed event, I learned a ton at the two I've gone to and it certainly improved my shooting (I always shot sharpshooter prior and now always shoot expert) Heck, I used what I learned at the Appleseed when I went to Squad Designated Marksman school.

Congratulations! you are no longer a mall ninja, bling operator, or 25/50 sniper.

You on your way to being a "rifleman".

            Congratulation!

Save that first target. Over time your groups shrink and everything will be in the red... that target will be your reminder of how far you've come.

An Appleseed shoot can and most likely will help almost anyone with improving on their fundamental marksmanship. It's a very worthwhile investment in your skill development.

The events are shot at 25 meters on reduced size targets to simulate distance using the 3 classic positions, standing, sitting, and prone. You learn to properly use a sling to build a supported position, breathing control, sight alignment and adjustment, trigger control, grip, check weld, and last but not least, mind set.

Instructors will lay down beside you and watch every component of you making a shot, and offer constructive critique to help you tighten up your groups and start shooting consistently.

You will also be treated to stories of our founding fathers during your breaks that have been either forgotten or have been cut from our education system due to PC and the progressive movement. You will leave proud of yourself, sore, tired, a better marksman, and most likely with a renewed vigor of patriotism.

                Have fun!!
