Why are SCARs great?

The man holding it identified it as a SOCOM 16 with a mini suppressor.
I've look at other images of the same rifle, and it is a SOCOM.

Because it looks cool, I have never actually seen anyone shoot it. I have seen people pose with it and have it out at the range while they shoot their handguns or ars but never shoot the scar.

Mine gets shot plenty. I even let complete strangers shoot it at the range, just show an interest in it.
