Surefire mounted near FH... can it take the abuse?

As you can see by the pics, I have a Surefire mini-scout in a Haley Strategic Thorntail. It sits right next to the flash hider on my SPR. Now I'm wondering if it can take the repeated blasts? (I'm hoping for the price it can) I will most likely be changing to a different brake, but the question will probably still apply.

    Any advice?

It should be fine. If you're that worried about it, put it on the other side so the light sits under the muzzle device. The blast from an A2 flash hider mostly goes upwards, so it'll be fine underneath.

There is never a dumb question.

This may not be the last time everyone gets a chance to see this picture.

Dang! Keep the flashlight mounted there, take about 100 shots and post the pictures of the flashlight afterwards. This should be good.

I realized the pictures make it hard to tell... it's mounted at 1 o'clock.

Ok so 1st that doesn't look like a brake. It looks like a standard a2 flash hider in the pic. 2nd, I do think the surefire can handle it, but why risk it just move it back 1". Lastly that doesn't look like an spr, more like a recce rifle. Difference being a 16" or 18" barrel.

Flash hider, not brake. Also, the Surefire will handle it with ease. Additionally, put some chapstick on the lens, then buff it out, like how you polish a car, the chapstick will let you remove the carbon buildup from the lens easier and without scratching the lens, be sure to reapply after cleaning.

This is my issued M4 (with lots of personally owned stuff on it) I know the Surefire will hold up just fine where it is.

I had a M600 mounted close to a MD and all that happened in thousands of rounds was the anodizing started to discolor a bit. Mine wasn't hovering over the MD like yours though I'd bring it back to where the tip of the head meets the crush washer. Your going to get lots of carbon buildup either way use toothpaste to get it off.

Oops yes, flash hider, youre right. edited.

it's an LWRC m6a2 SPR Mod 0, 14.7"...not so much the style of gun, just the product name.

Not too worried about discoloring, though minimizing it would be nice I guess. I was hoping to minimize shadowing by getting it further up there. I'll put it back a little and see what I'm working with then.

                    Thanks for the advice.

I really like my light at 12 o clock to minimize shadow and flash back.

the question is how long can it take it.

Will it take it? YMMV. I'd move it back a bit.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

                            exactly! that's my concern lol.

sure it may run fine for 3k rounds... but what about 4k? 5k? 8k?
