      I knew I should have stayed away from this thread. Now it is too late, cannot stop thinking about upgrading my scopes....

        Save the money and get something "better" unless it's a budget build. I was in the same boat a few months ago and decided to save up more to get a better optic. I decided I wanted to buy something something that I can "grow into" as I didn't have much experience with the AR platform.

        It's hard to shoot what you can't see. If your "budget" optic/mount doesn't hold zero well, well then you've already lost before you even pulled the trigger. But then again, this all goes back to purpose, your acceptable level of performance, and one's ability to make the most of a superior optic.

          I just added the 3x9x40 to my mini14. If you don't want a dot sight and your budget is $150 the one in the pic is the one for you. It's a great scope.

            I ended up getting a nikon buckmaster, 220 dollar scope was on sale for 160.
