            Went with a Remimgton 700 SPS Varmint in .308. Found it in stock for $620 new so I snapped it up last night.

                Good Choice..!..Everybody needs a good Bolt Gun. The 700 is fantastic.!
                Before reading your post I was going to recommend the Ruger Scout but that would be more $ than the R 700. (it does run 10 round box magazines however).
