    I recommend you wait for 4-5 months cause prices are starting to come down and the market is gonna be flooded with ars that you can get one for a descent price.

      At this time I'm not 100% confident about putting one together. My plans were to get a complete AR first, and then build another once I'm more familiar with its parts. I am seeing more inventory pop up, so hopefully prices will start to drop in the next couple of months. Thanks again for all of your input.

          I was in your situation not too long ago and decided to buy a S&W M&P15t for my first ar. I absolutely love it. You can always sell it for what you paid for it ( maybe not right now) and get build something better once you know what you want.
