I apologize I came out the way I did. Please do make an effort to read up & understand the history here. Find out who the "right people" are & what they have done for us here in California so that we can play with our toys. They are our true source of information. The more you read, you'll see who the FUDs spreaders are & how to react to them.

I'm not on this site very often. I don't know how many times other people have asked this question. A search might have done fine for me but it wouldn't have addressed the brand new rumor for my stepdad. Like I replied to another poster, I said I would ask so I asked.

I have no idea who his buddies are nor do I really care. As far as seeing who is putting rumors out there I can see how it would be helpful to know who started it and that was not something I had thought about.

I have read the laws as well as all the DOJ letters I could find as well as TONS of posts regarding both here on Calguns. I know the DOJ backed itself into a corner and screwed itself from adding to the ban list. I am comfortable with my understanding of the OLL deal.

Plus, I'm not really sure what anyones screen name has to do with anything. If I posted under the name "Sex Genius" that wouldn't make it true...

Because I'm not an expert and I don't spend a ton of time keeping up on what this shop or that shop is doing at any given moment.

It might be a good idea next time you hear something like this and before posting to do a quick search. It may only take a couple of minutes to get your answer. Somthing as big as this would have been posted a while ago. I am pretty sure 10%, CSW and others would have said something as well.

You make it sound as if I was implying "everyone is halting lower sales" when I was only saying I was told by someone else that this was happening. And I made that clear.

And I felt the need to delete my words because people like you are giving me a hard time. I don't need a hassle. I doubt anyone here does. I don't know how this "Stomp the Noobs" attitude came about but it seems to be getting more and more prevalent on a LOT of the forums I used to enjoy.

It doesn't matter to me if I searched for a week and ended knowing more than anyone would ever care to know about OLL's, the DOJ, or anything else on these forums.

I told him I would do something and when I tell someone I will do something I do it.

Doing a search for my own knowledge has NOTHING to do with it and would not have relieved me from doing what I said I would do.

In the future I will refrain from telling anybody that the folks at Calguns are always understanding of noobs and super helpful and next time I'll tell my stepdad to "Bite me" and figure it out himself, I guess.

This IS a DISCUSSION forum not a static information dump but it can be if it's that big of an issue.

If you are that convinced that everything has been answered and that no one needs to ask anything again I can easily turn off the posting features so that Calguns is a 'read only' website, would that help keep people from asking questions you don't want to have to answer again?

That doesn't mean pointing to a sheet of text and saying 'Read this'. That's just pushing them off as 'bothering you'.
That's a great way to get people interested and willing to jpoin the fight isn't it.

There are nearly 5,000 active members here, if you don't want to answer or feel it is a waste of time to repeat information, just leave the thread alone and someone else will come along and answer it.

There are thousands of things we can do to consolidate California gun owners in to one very loud voice, jumping on the backsides when they ask a question you don't like is one of the dozens of things we can do to prevent that voice from ever existing. That's really not the work we want to be doing.

I think it would make sense for the DOJ to be in the process of brewing a plan that will effectively ban OLL's and any future loopholes. The trick for them is being patient and methodical, so as not to generate the same situation again.

But you can bet that none of us will hear about it, if something is in the works!

I dunno, I have 1 rifle and 3 lowers now. I figure that's plenty for a long time to come.
