Another rumor I assume

"Good friends, good food & good wine. Anything else is just a waste of soy sauce.":) -
Kestryll this was posted it in the Riflemans forum not the 2nd Amend. Politics and Laws forum and titled it, Another rumor I assume. That could be anything having to do with rifles and such not just oll's. Believe me when I say if it's another FUD question I don't open or read it as you suggest, I am tired of reading the BS...
Put that same title in the 2nd Amend. Politics and Laws forum and I stay clear because there is so much FUD with the laws and regs.
Okay, knock it off.
If you don't want to read a thread or think it is a 'waste' here's a really simple trick.
DON'T READ THE DAMN THING!!
Gee, that's so damn simple it's scary!!!
WTH is with the jumping on someone's case for asking a question?
This IS a DISCUSSION forum not a static information dump but it can be if it's that big of an issue.
If you are that convinced that everything has been answered and that no one needs to ask anything again I can easily turn off the posting features so that Calguns is a 'read only' website, would that help keep people from asking questions you don't want to have to answer again?
Remember the part about EDUCATING people?
That doesn't mean pointing to a sheet of text and saying 'Read this'. That's just pushing them off as 'bothering you'.
That's a great way to get people interested and willing to jpoin the fight isn't it.
There are nearly 5,000 active members here, if you don't want to answer or feel it is a waste of time to repeat information, just leave the thread alone and someone else will come along and answer it.
There are thousands of things we can do to consolidate California gun owners in to one very loud voice, jumping on the backsides when they ask a question you don't like is one of the dozens of things we can do to prevent that voice from ever existing. That's really not the work we want to be doing.sigpicNRA LIFE MEMBERComment

Another +1
It is great to see a bunch of new faces as we are certainly becoming a much larger group!Originally posted by MonsterManThis site is only getting bigger and I think we will see much more of these posts.
I have nothing to substantiate this, but it seems like the OLL word is spreading quickly through the ranks of the 'very casual shooter', quicker than I've seen it before. Our hospitality and diligent Anti-FUD campaign will only make us stronger.Comment

So true... I need to know some stuff and searching doesnt always yield results since it could be listed under a different title. Good Stuff head janitor. It also doesn't help when people get too sensitive and whine throughout a whole post either.Comment

Keep posting your questions... not everyone will be so quick with the 'search' comment.
I waited a long time before I registered, for that same reason. But I was able to find everything, over a few weeks.FB BRD Fan Page

Although it does not completely apply to this thread as the OP is a gun owner this thread brought some things to mind:
The only way to improve the laws in CA is to educate others with respect and patience.
Mix any hint of negativity, aggression into a conversation with someone who holds an opposing opinion, especially in regard to a sensitive topic (guns), and you have already further solidified their previously held belief.
Not to get all serious on everyone, but I really believe that this is important.
For example, everyone who calls our state Kalifornia all the time (like its original and funny), makes personal attacks on political figures, or assumes all "anti-gun" people are weak think about what you really want to accomplish with your words. Of course you have a right to your opinion (and I'm not saying that I don't agree with some of the above sentiments in the examples I wrote), however, as responsible gun owners I think we should strive to look at the bigger picture. After all it is weapons and words make the most powerful combination, so as Calguns members we've got it covered from both sides.

Sometimes. Most of the time...beliefs are held extremely close and there is no changing anyones mind, especially when it gets to be an emotional issue to them. ie:
Save the whales.
Ban oil drilling.
Ban guns.
Ban Smoking.
etc. etc.
People get so wrapped up in their beliefs they can not see past it, even if it is violating others rights.Comment

You mean we can't just shoot them? jokes :hides: :leaves:
I think the point has been made. I understand both/all sides... it gets frustrating to keep dealing with people who are so quick to deny all they've learned.
On the other hand, gun shop owners seem so credible. Hey, the DOJ SHOULD be the most credible source we have, but they're the source of all this.

I agree, its hard to find out the true facts when the people who are supposed to be giving us those facts are the very ones distorting them against us.You mean we can't just shoot them? jokes :hides: :leaves:

Whats with all the attitude lately? I dont get it.
For some reason, some people feel all high and mighty with the "do a search" comments, or belittling those that ask an honest question just because "they" already know the answer.
Well, news flash folks....not everyone has been on this forum every day for the past couple years. Not everyone has been witness to the misinformation and outright lies perpetrated by the CA DOJ and even some gun stores...over and over again.
If you find a thread that has misinformation or is based on FUD...either spend a couple minutes to properly educate or stay out of it....dont worry...your ego will be fine...It is dangerous to be right when your government is wrong. -Voltaire
