Ar Build help~

Hi guys,

I've finally gotten around to building an Ar setup and need some help. My funds are tapped from the recent Mosin Disease I caught and fixing up a .22, but I think I might have enough for the beginning of an Ar. So I ask you guys what is a good quality, dependable lower brand and about how much is it? I've used the search button but no real answers, just a bombardment of name brands. After that, does anyone know where I can find some varmint uppers for sale? I'm looking for something around 500- with a heavy barrel 24-26" and free floating hand guard. I understand that some say you don't need such a long barrel but I prefer them. Can a barrel be free floated? Thank you in advanced hope to hear from you soon.

wow, everything you just asked has been covered here about a billion times! so the only thing i can say is

oh what the hell...... all lowers are about the same! spikes, cmmg, stag, it doesnt matter, pick one that fits your budget and go with it.

as for the upper, $500 is not a lot to work with for a 24-26" HBAR upper. maybe this will be in your budget http://www.galatiinternational.com/M...ct_Code=MDB203

and yes, the barrel is free floated, but i dont know if it comes with the bolt carrier group (BCG) or a charging handle.

Get a Rock River Arms varmint upper.

All lowers are the same (except Hesse/Vulcan), just pick one with a logo you like.

Really, though, you should've searched or at least shown that you've given it some effort by saying, "Is X better than Y?"

Almost all varmint rigs are free floated and should be. If you're building that long go Bull barrel over an HBAR.

any lower will do for OLL CA types.

There are tax, christmas, thanksgiving and 4th of july internet sales that you can get a smoking deal on for uppers etc...

stick around the board and just get that lower. Get the rest during a sale.
