It is not illegal to possess one, but buying one would probably bring you within the accomplice, accessory, or conspiracy statutes because you would be an accomplice, accessory, or conspirator to the sale. The same is also probably true about lending / giving.Nope. Here is the law:
Show me where it's illegal to buy one. Show me where it is illegal to find one. Show me where it's illegal to posess one.
I'm part of the lucky group that obtained them before the ban so I am free. But had I broken the law in 2001 and illegally imported them I would be immune from prosecution because statute of limitations has expired.The above does not constitute legal advice. I am not your lawyer.

Cute word games and 'clever' ideas like 'finding' magazines aside, acquiring a magazine capable of holding more than ten rounds of it's designed caliber is illegal in California.
