    JAE Gen2 for a SoCom16?

Has anybody dropped their Socom into a JAE GEN2 stock yet?

I would love to see some pics and was curious it was a possible platform for it now that they claim it is lighter......

Thanks in advance for the gratuitous Socom16 JAE Gen2 porn......

Check the gallery. I could have sworn I saw a Socom in a JAE stock in the M1A thread.

I'm not sure I understand the point of a target stock on a battle rifle...

Yeah, I have a Gen 1 on a SOCOM. I like the look and general feel of the JAE stocks over the standard stock (even on the SOCOM), HOWEVER...

The Gen 1 JAE stocks have a problem in that they do not allow your head/eye to get low enough to use the iron sights. On a long range/target rifle, this isn't too much of an issue, but on the SOCOM it is a little troublesome.

However, one of the changes they are making to for the Gen II JAE is they are lowering the rear of the gun (and making it more narrow) so that it should work fine with the iron sights.

The gun pictured is with a GEN I JAE and an Aimpoint. (although I currently swapped the Aimpoint for an EoTech)

The SOCOM or actually, any of the M1As, are very heavy guns. I've never weighed mine with the JAE and then with the standard stock to see which is heavier, but regardless they would both be heavy.

FYI... the 'FOXTROT' on the checkrest is because I have three variations of this gun on three JAE stocks, one is WHISKY, the other TANGO, and this one is FOXTROT.
If you know how many guns you have... you don't have enough guns.

Did you have the FOXTROT custom engraved?

Yeah, I had JAE do one that says FOXTROT, then I have another that says, "WHISKY" and I am still waiting for my Gen II stock that will say "TANGO".

I also used a check rest from one of the JAE stocks on a PS90 I have. I needed to raise my eye just a little, and it just so happened that the check rests from the JAE fit the PS90 perfectly!
