I have an Lmt 308 on order. Was told it would be in by the end of Dec. Now I may see it by the summer. At any rate...I want to cut the barrel to 13.75 and have the Noveske flash hider permanently attached. Does any one know of someone in So Ca that can do this...reliably?

AR15Barrels can do it. But I must ask, why on earth are you cutting it to 13.75?

I agree, I don't think I would cut the barrel on that rifle. It is set up perfect for precision shooting from the factory.Comment

that is one rifle i don't recommend to mess with. shoot it first. they are so smooth you dont want to mess with it.Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Cutting that barrel is sacrilegious. There's a reason why military units are adopting that platform. Please keep something in mind. The twist is 1/11.25, which means you're barely getting one full rotation for stabilization. That WILL affect accuracy. FWIW.
I have an MWS, which I bought from another Calgunner (prior to panic). It shoots 3/4" groups with my loads and Federal GMM. Personally, I wouldn't alter the weapon...again, FWIW. Just my .02.Comment

Just buy a short barrel and forget cutting down the one you have. The gas system/dwell times/ pressure curve isnt going to work out well for that barrel cut.Comment

What's the point in having a 308 with a 13.75" barrel? You already lost the advantages of having a 308. It will probably have velocity on par with an 7.62x39 with increased noise and muzzle flash.Bounce a ball in Football that's a fumble. Baseball, no bouncing at all. Bounce a ball in Hockey, well that's a mandatory drug test right there...Comment
