it's from the 60s, it is most likely banned by name. You can buy the upper though, which would be pretty sweet.

S@W ARs aren't cool they are a low end AR with a high end price. look at the material specs for the critical parts. They are made with bolt action quality steel . The Colt on the other hand is made of the highest qualtiy machine gun metals proof tested and magnetic partical inspected,,, 7075 aluminum reciever extention twice as strong as 6061 S@W uses,,the real deal.

How are the le6920ca, le6920cmp and le6940ca CA legal?

Is it because the model # ends in CA and CMP and has factory installed bullet button and 9 rd mags?

Looking at the flow chart it looks illegal.

It's because they don't say AR15 on them, they are labeled m4 carbine.

It's false. The rifle is banned. You cannot legally own it. No disrespect, but it doesn't sound like you should own it. Take your $1k and buy an AK, or build one. You'll have a blast. As for the 'pre-ban Vietnam Era Colt,' enough already.
