There is no price because I'm not doing another one.
Damn, I wouldn't want to do another one either!!!!! That must have been a machinists' nightmare!!! BTW, how long did that take you to do? (probably as long as it would take to jewell a 700 bolt!!!!)

Even set up with a 4th axis, it'll still take a little while. A PITA..... Sure looks sweet.

Randall, did you use a dividing head, or do you have a machining center with a 4th axis? My VF-2 is pre-wired for a 4th, but I've never chased that kind of work.

        all the best,

        Mike
There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?

The barrel under the handguard is considerably lighter.

The carrier looks like it's lightened and there isn't anything on the carrier to open the dust cover.

Check the rifling in it if it's good then great deal. If it's fair and you can get a year or two of shooting it then still a good deal. If you have to replace the barrel then just buy a new one or buy it with intention of replacing the barrel after you've saved up a couple more $$$.

Good luck JP's are top shelf.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

You know, even with a 1/2 burned out bore, that upper has a bunch of pricey parts that don't wear out. I'd say you'd be doing fine.

If it is a Bull Barrel, I'd get it turned down to a Medcon... unless it's close to shot out. I wouldn't wanna carry any bull barrel... on a bench, though, a big bull barrel and a brake is like shootin 22.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I can think of other things I'd much rather not do. It's just repetitive hole drilling...

Just over 1 minute per dimple and there are 216 dimples.

                Hand-cranked bridgeport clone.
I put the barrel in a dividing head and then clamped the barrel in the mill vise to hold it.
Dividing head was just sorta "floating" off the end of the barrel because it was not bolted to the table but just sitting there.

Nothing wrong with the upper, it's just my buddy can't resist a good deal when offered. He got another JP upper which he uses for 3 gun. And yes that upper is heavy. The only thing that's holding me back is I want the traditional look of an AR.
