    #$@#%@ bullet button!

I just got a bullet button in the mail and it won't fit in my lower receiver! I have a stag lower and only one end of the bullet button (the end with larger hole) fits, and even that is tight and got stuck. I had to use a pair of pliers to pull it out and when I did it marred the bullet button badly. Anyone else have this problem? It's a GENII bullet button.

You have to fit them. Take a file or sandpaper to the end with the small hole until it fights tightly. (tap into place) or until it drops in, and put a drop of loctite on it to glue it down. Next time you have a problem with a part like that grab an old belt or a piece of leather or heavy rubber, and put that between the jaws of your pliers or vise so you don't scratch the part up.

Sleepy there have been a few that have had a problem with the bullet button being a little over sized. This forum has an OLL assembly guide thats a great resource and shows you step by step on assembly including the bullet button installation. It is next to the "home" link on the upper blue line and should be a great help to you. I too have a Stag lower I picked up yesterday however I got the first generation bullet button and it slid right in. Sorry to hear of your troubles and I hope all goes well soon.

My understanding is that there is a Gen I and Gen II BB1, and a Gen I of the BB2. I just installed a Gen II BB1 in my Sabre Defence lower, and it just dropped in. I've read that the Gen I typically took some modification to fit most lowers. Gen II was supposed to solve that problem. But, I'm just a newb.

I installed a Gen I BB in my AR. Some light fitting was necessary in order to complete the install(it said as much on the instruction sheet). A small fine cut file and a little patience was all it took.
If it ain't broke, keep fixin' it 'til it is...

Gen II bullet buttons are supposed to slide right in. Contact the seller, maybe it was an error.

If it's Gen 1 it's designed to be fitted with a little work by person installing it. You can use a dremel tool with sander attachment(much faster than sand paper) to shave off some of the material at the end that don't fit.

                  Sleepoy,

Is the center nut black? If so it should have slid right in. The first gen BB was a press fit. It was not an accident, it was designed tht way.

If you damaged your kit, send it back to me and I'll replace it for just the shipping cost.

Just file it down. It isnt worth the shipping cost to send it back. I would have just hammered it in.

I couldn't find a file so I used a grinder. I just got it in. Pretty cool! Thanks for all the replies. I had to grind a lot of material off to get it to fit well.

In the future, the BB is a lot easier to get in if you rub it gently and talk to it nicely before just ramming the thing in there.
