    PAR-1 and assorted evil features

So I decided to get one of those PAR-1's from Big5. I already have a Romy G build, and I thought this would be an interesting addition to the collection.

I considered a conversion on it, but decided not to. By keeping it as a pump action, what is the deal with evil features? It has a pistol grip obviously, and a detachable mag. Can I remove the lame muzzle break and put on something more interesting? How about a folding stock....I still need 30" overall length?

    Thanks...

dude, its a pump-action..You can put a live weasel or hollowed dildo on the barrel and it would be legal..A folding stock will be ok but keep overall length above the legal amount.

It only needs to be longer than 26" since it is not a semi-auto, centerfire rifle.

Keep it over 26" and put whatever evil features you want on it.

Well that solves my problem of what to do with my excess weasel and dildo problem....

If you use both a weasel AND dildo then we know which way you swing...Let me guess there's a tube and lighter involved as well?

Just remember that it's 26" with the stock FOLDED and you should be ok. Also, for overall length it doesn't need to be permanent. So if you're half an inch short and decide to attach a longer muzzle device, it doesn't need to be pinned. That's only barrel length. Overall rifle length can be held on with tension for all they care; just make sure it doesn't come off ever with out extending the rifle in another manner. Wouldn't want to create an assault weapon because muzzle blast threw your muzzle brake down range.

I turned my par-1 back into a real AK style rifle. I used an ak parts kit to do it. It works great.

Which NorCal Big 5's carry PAR-1 rifles in stock? I have never seen one.

                    I found one in Ceres.

Can I convert it by pressing out the existing barrel, an replacing it with one from a parts kit, thereby retaining the original rivets?

Once you switch the stock, does 922 apply?

                        No.

922r only applies to semi-automatic rifles and shotguns.

I wonder if there is a way to alter the forward grip to accept a forward pistol grip? Would be more comfortable I think.

I stopped by the local big5 and they are all out. I guess its more popular than expected. Now for the legalities. I am thinking of a trunk rifle and this would be perfect but I need to get the legal mumbo jumbo. Since it is a pump what can we do legally to it. I know minimum 26 inches. So I can put a folding stock on it as so long when folded it stays above 26". How about magazine capacity? Can you use preban Hicaps with this? Does it have to have a fix stock? Can I add a muzzle break? Since this is not a shotgun does the laws pertaining the shotgun apply to the Par-1.

Yes. If you owned large capacity magazines before 01-01-2000 in CA, you can use them.
