    Why the run on ammo?

    Hi everyone,

I'm curious what is the rationale for the extreme demand for intermediate cartridges (5.56 mm, etc.) right now? I get the demand for magazines and semi-autos with a possible impending ban but I just don't see their ammo getting banned too. Can anyone explain this? I hope you all enjoy the holidays!

There has been a lot of talk of a tax on ammo purchases.
Just one more way to get at us!

There is alot of talk, without any action so far, about taxing, or restricting online ammo sales in CA.

Because there is a lot of talk of bans, and no one knows what will be affected by any possible bans.

People are buying now so they don't end up SOL later on and end up having to pay higher prices or just do without if SHTF.

Because people are buying into this ammo scare. Since I've been into guns about 2 years ago, there's been an ammo scare every 6 months and people get all crazy and buy all the ammo off the shelves. Then after 2 weeks everything goes back to normal. I think its a way the media and politicians get us to buy more ammo. Maybe they have some sort of deal with the ammo companies-they scare us, we buy more ammo, and the richer get richer.

People need to relax. Year after year, this crap comes up and guess what, my local Walmart still carries ammo.

Remember after Obama was elected in 2008. You couldn't get ammo but several months after it lightened up. Same thing. I'll bet by end of January - mid February it will get back to some semblance of normal or you could jump on the 4 sale post and buy 500 rounds for $400. Now ARs may be a totally different ballgame. I'd snatch up a lower for 250 that sold for 125 a week ago.

I've been unable to find any ammo for my ARs

However ammunition for my 7.62x39 AK has been easy to find, and still cheap.

Because 7.62x39 wasn't used in the latest National tragedy. If it is, .223 will be cheaper than dirt
