Rust Prevention Help.

Hello all,

I'm going oversea for a few months (5 to 6 months), and I would like to ask your opinion about using Breakfree CLP as rust prevention in the bore, chamber and action area. I heard some oil/lube just evaporate over a short time period, Will Breakfree CLP last 6 months? Any recommandation of other product may work better to prevent rust?

visited my father 10 years ago, pulled out his old 1911 and it had rust. Spent a day taking it apart and cleaning it, got all the rust off. He had a can of ballistol in his garage so i used it. Label talked about a protective film so i figured it couldn't hurt and assumed my father would use the gun shortly anyway.

Went down last year, gun was untouched in 9 years and had zero rust.

ZCCOR rifle or pistol bags. I have used these for years and zero corrosion/rust.
Lock box with dehumidifier in it.
Boeshield T9 works great for corrosion/rust prevention.

I've read that Eezox is by far the best at preventing rust.

Use a 15W or higher with a dimmer bulb inside of your safe to prevent moister.
