DPMS lr-308 lower internal

Well just moved to California and I have a DPMS LR-308 back in TX. Trying to legally get it here, but I'm concerned about the lower being stamped DPMS panther firearms LR-308 (I'm guessing this makes it illegal) What would you suggest I do?

Ship the upper
by a TM lower? Will the DPMS lower internal work with the TM?
install a bullet button

Yes, Panther is a named AW, regardless of bullet button.

Internals will work, but there are (I think) two different parts that you will not need that TM supplies specifically for their lower. One of them is the bolt catch screw.....it's a different size. Not sure what the other is....

Riflegear has DPMS 308 CALI legal lowers

My TM came with three "special" parts, two small set screws and one steel pin.

One set screw is for the rear takedown pin detent hole, the other holds the pin in which is the bolt hold open pivot instead of the DPMS threaded pin.

I have to say that my TM is really nice, even though it's an 80% I finished myself (at a CNC build party).

The trigger guard is a lot nicer than the DPMS, the set screw retained rear takedown pin detent is nice too. I've heard the TM style pin and set screw retained BHO pivot pin is an upgrade because the DPMS version can fail in a way that screws up your lower.

I suggest TM and they even have a matching upper (I bought one, it should be delivered next week or so).

Gawww....You're correct. I said "mag catch" but meant bolt catch. I will revise.

Good call on the takedown pin....forgot about thatone too. It's been a while since I built out my TM .308 lower.

Lucky you 08GTCS! I'm really thinking about moving back to AZ. Not only the gun laws are crazy so are the taxes. Thanks for all the info, if I stay I will look at the TM.

Yeah I can't believe all of the laws out there on guns and how expensive everything is. I don't care how beautiful the weather is, I'd never be able to put up with the restrictions on guns.

Yep, I lived in TN and FL for some time and enjoyed the non-bullet button and 20 round mags. I jumped at the chance to get back to CA regardless of those rifle restrictions. There is no substitute for CA.
