My 15-22 is damn accurate. Even with almost 10k rounds, it still shoots as good as the day I bought it.

Runs best on bulk ammo. Only ammo issues I ver had were with crappy Remington.

Still my favorite gun I own.

      Either

You will enjoy either. I've shot both and really couldn't tell you which I enjoy more. The S&W has the tacticool built in, but price-wise, the 10/22 is a relative bargain. (At least until you get the bug to start modifying it)

The 10/22 is the way to go I have had one since 1977 and can't tell you the use the rifle has gotten [a thousand rounds a year easy]. It is easy to clean and honestly the only time you need to clean it is when the chamber is so crudded is starts to malfunction. Just keep it lubed

I use a Vortex Sparc on my 10/22 tactical and I'm very pleased with it. Especially its small form factor...

Great stuff everyone, thank you. I do like the 15-22. That's first in the list, then down the road I'm thinking the 10-22 Takedown after its been out awhile. Lots of great info, thanks again.

Why not get an ar15 lower, .22 upper, and the 10-22?

Question? Why is this in Centerfire instead of General or Rimfire forum?

One of the first guns I ever owned was a 10/22. I was ignorant at the time of all the limitless mods posible for the rifle so I sold it after quickly getting bored with it.

Now I own a 15/22 and its one of my favorite guns. However, I do plan to get another 10/22 in the future, just no time soon.

                      if not, get the 10/22
I agree completely. If the OP is looking for tacticool then the M&P15-22 is the way to go but if looking for a general purpose or hunting 22 then the 10/22 is a getter choice.
