    C Products 10/30 Mags Ok?

I picked up two C Products 10/30 mags from 44mag.com and took them apart to see how they were limited to 10 rounds. It looks like they just cut two tabs on each thin side of the mag and bent them inward. I think all one would have to do is bend the tabs flush to make them 30 round mags. Are these 10 rounders usable or can I get in trouble since it is possible to make them 30 rounders?

If you don't modify them to accept more than 10, you're fine.

Sometimes they only hold 9 rounds though. You can use a punch and hammer and tap in those tabs a bit more if you cannot get that 10th round in. I think the idea of bending those tabs up in such a way as to allow the follower to move past them is not as easy as it may seem.

I got lucky, both mine hold 10. You are probably right on the difficulty of converting to 30rndrs. Just wanted to make sure that this is good enough because I have read several threads where people talk about filling the mag with bondo or something to make it even more impossible to convert to 30rnd mags.

I have 2 of the c-products 10-30s from a couple months ago. Absolute crap. Both only hold 9 and will not feed the last round reliably, sometimes the follower/spring binds on the second or third round and gets stuck. Absolute mess. You can turn the mag upside down and all the rounds just fall out. Would NOT recommend the 10/30s.

The follower broke on mine the first time i used it. You cant put a new follower in because you cant get it past those tabs. They arent worth it in my opinion.

Same here, only holds 9 and will not feed the last.

Damn, I just bought a C Products 10/30 mag from riflegear a few days ago. This is not good news. ;(

They seem to be regarded as having excellent customer service though.

I thought the law was that the magazine must be rendered absolutely useless as in no longer functional in any way if someone tries to make it a 30 rounder from a 10 rounder.

Well I am glad I only purchased 2 of them. Now all I need is my rifle to show up so I can see if they work.

Bring them Saturday and we can test them in my new Bullet Button build. All I have are 10/10s for it so it'll be nice to see what it looks like with a 10/30 .
