LONG GUN registration goes into effect in jan 2014 all long gun pirchases (rifles and SG ) will need to registered but you dont need to register home built firearms ie Ak or ar 80%
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. OK, safe to assume ARs will still be required to use a BB after being "registered"?

Just verified with an FFL, dealer required to maintain records for 20 years on long guns however the DOJ themselves supposedly destroy all records after 15 days.

I fail to see how to DOJ could possibly track a long gun down when they have no record themselves of who bought the long gun... what... are they going audit every FFL in CA until they find their man?

Only if it has "evil" features... if it's a featureless rifle, it does not need a BB.

It wont have a effect on BB thats a CA AW law not registration and like HK dave said no bb is needed on a featureless rifle (if you can get over that goofy freaking look ) lol

You KNOW what he is asking.

OP, here's the deal. With an AR, the only part you have to fill any paperwork on, and do your 10 day wait on, is the lower, whether stripped or complete. If you buy a stripped lower from your dealer, it gets dros paperwork and a 10 day wait. Everything else you need to assemble it from parts can. E mail ordered. I believe there is an age requirement of 21 however on stripped lowers because they are technically not rifles or pistols but other. Anyway, if age is an issue, just buy a complete rifle.

You will also have people recommend 80% finished lowers. I'm not going to add more mud to the water here, but google search it and read up.

Good luck have fun. I need a bell to ring every time we get a new rifleman amongst the populace.

If you are 18 or older but are not 21 you can only buy a complete rifle or 80% lower.
Using gun control to stop crime is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline!
You don't have to get permission to exercise a RIGHT. If you have to get permission or can be told no by the government it is no longer a right. IT IS A PRIVILEGE!
