Theres also an aftermarket SCAR receiver that can accept Pmags. Or you can just wait a month or two when Magpul finally comes out with the M3s that fit.

For the 7.62/17S yes, but the OP has a 5.56/16S.

For PMAGs, they will run unmodified, but it will cause the gun to beat itself up (this is true for more than just the SCAR, actually). 10 seconds with a Dremel will cure the problem though.

          There's an M3 coming out?

I'm loading up on my GI mags for my first outing with the SCAR. I read that the GI mags have no problems that the P-mags have.

Yeah, new pmags are due out that are STANAG spec compliant, they'll work in SCAR, HK, S80, and all the other platforms that the regular pmag won't.

Magpul said they'd be out fall of 2012, so probably sometime next xmas.

Very easy to modify the pmags, and well worth the time.

On a side note, my brother bought a MiAd grip for his scar and it barely fits and looks like crap, anyone know why?

You have to shave off some of the mounting point on the receiver to get the grip to fit correctly. It's easy and a harmless process, but will void your warranty.

I just modified my MIAD instead of the receiver. Very easy.

Yeah i just took a dremel to my grip as well cause if something goes wrong, those grips are easier to replace. I mean you can replace your scar lower for $55 bucks if you screw it up but why pay $55 when you could pay $30.

I just use the tango down BG17 grip which requires no modification..

They also sell an ERGO scar grip that needs no modification also to fit.

First impressions so far without firing the weapon:

                        1. It's light but no where near my KISS AR
                        2. Very well balanced
                        3. With the balance, it seems very maneuerable
                        4. Barrel needs to be chopped
                        5. Front rail is a little short for my shooting style
                        6. Love the bolt hold open lay out
                        7. Stock is ugly as hell, but very comfortable

Going to the range this Saturday and can't wait to see how it performs aganist my AR.
                        It is a nice one.
You don't need to chop the barrel.
                        just dress it up.

That's too bad that you got the less accurate version.

(For those that don't know, there's a running joke on FN Forums that the FDE version is more accurate than the black.)

FDE is def more accurate. More reliable and lighter too
