If you are unable to solve the gassing issue, this extractor spring upgrade will most likely solve your ejection problem. Usually no need for the O-ring.

+1 changing a Irwin itself won't effect the function of the weapon. Removing and improperly installing the gas block will. Sounds like your gas block isn't lined up right. Nothing more than that. Get that issue fixed before you start making any other changes such as springs and buffers.

Like others mentioned, it's most-likely the extractor. The gun sounds like it's cycling fine (not stripping case but trying to feed new round) so I don't think it's the gas system. Just change out the extractor spring and shoot it. If it's still having FTE issues, then post here what it does. Also, if it runs, QUIT MESSING WITH IT

Haven't fired it yet but checked the gas block and it's perfect.

Check some of the brass that didn't extract and the brass looks fine so it's not under gased otherswise I think it would be taking chunks off the brass when the round is still expanded in the chamber n the extractor pulls on it

Like I sauid I haven't fired it since it had those jams but I'm going tomorrow so I will come back n post an update n then try to stop being anal about my guns

Is you gas block pinned, clamped, or set screw? If the latter two, I'd say check your gas block.

I had a similar issue of my bolt not locking back on a previous build. My set screw gas block was pushed too far back. I failed to leave the ~1/16th gap that the front handguard cap would usually occupy so therefore my gas block was not lined up with the port in the barrel. Once I adjusted for the gap, issue resolved.

I run the Spikes ST-T2 buffer on all 3 of my rifles, two of which have 14.5" mid length barrels. I've never had an issue. In fact, I prefer that buffer on mid length gas system barrels. That setup has worked extremely well for me.
