Who makes the best AR lowers?

Stag lowers seem to be pretty popular around here. Who else likes what? Anything that's total crap? I hear bad things about Vulcan stuff, true or untrue? How much should I be willing to pay for what quality? I'm gearing up for an AR build and I'd like to start with a good lower.

    Thanks!

once again, search. but pretty much all the lowers are pretty similar and most of the companies are all built from just a couple of manufacturers (just marked by the receiving company). you can't go wrong with a stag, cmmg, lmt, sabre, etc. just depends on what pic you want on the side of the receiver.

That is pretty much my opinion. 99% of the receivers on the market are good.

What about Doublestar? I heard it's the same maker as CMMG, LAR?

I have not heard anything bad about DoubleStar. I personally don't like the logo.

You can pretty much just pick your lower (except Vulcan) and be gtg.

Everything is the same, with the exception of billet lowers and POF's Gen II and III lowers. Whether those are worth more is up to you.

IMO Doublestar is the best bang for you buck out there. Better finish than Stag, same forging and machining as CMMG. The logo may not be the greatest but it's not the worst either. Side by side, there is absolutely no difference between the DS and CMMG except the logo.

Another two weeks must have gone by for someone to ask this question, yet again.

Let's keep this up top so we won't have to answer again in 2 weeks.

How about just about every lower covered including pics:

Maybe we can go three weeks this time.

So many to choose from, its mind boggeling, were to start.

So i toke the easy road out and bought PPT on a AR15 the lower and upper are from Mathewson tool company out of San Jose, not sure about the rest of the build hmm perhaps i should of done some homework before doleing out the cash, but the owner who had many builds for sale said it was a great make, and i dont know any better.

Has anybody had any experience with this manufacture or does anybody own such a model please giv me your comments, i want to know if im getting a good gun, ive heard ROCK RIVER are good as they have gotten orders from the Military and SWAT, Bushmaster ive been told is a good manufacture of AR15 parts, so how does Mathewson tool company stack up.

Also the AR15 i bought is the 7.62mmx39,not the 556-223 which,is the better caliber. Ive been told the 7.62 because of greater penetration through objects/walls etc. though less range, please give me your expert advice. thanks.
