How are you using a delta ring with the JP Handguard? Doesn't it use a proprietary barrel nut and handguard mount?

Btw, I've never been a fan of the cheese grater hand rails. I'm not mil so I don't need all the mounting space. The only thing I have on my JP is a 2" rail section for a light. I'd probably try Troy Extreme tubular if I wasn't using a JP heatsink on my barrel.

IPSICK - yes jp uses their own barrel nut. That is why I asked if my eyes were going crazy. I'm a big fan of tube style handguards and rails as needed.

Yeah, I only looked at the photo and not your comment about the Delta ring. I'm still wondering if that is Bobby Hated's assembled setup or just something put together for a photo.

I don't always dig the quad rail look but I think it's good here:

I find that DD quad rails end up being lighter than their tube competitors. I choose DD for the weight and free float... not so much for the rails.

A lighweight aluminum freefloat tube improves accuracy
A $7 weave scope rail attached with two screws weighs nothing and holds your light
A simple stud works to hold a harris bipod and weighs nothing

I picked up a quad rail and it makes the gun awkward when moving from target to target

I personally do not have a need for all of the real estate offered by the quad rail setup

Keep the rifle light and you'll enjoy it more, especially if you train dynamic/tactical movement. I'm not an AR-guy, but on my AK' all I added was an ultimak rail for a red dot. With the proper mount, this will also hold a flashlight.

I haven't jump on the band wagon yet, i figure if i want to put stuff on my rail i would want a solid interface and not having to worry about rail section coming loose.

So any of you guys with the old quad-rail itching to upgrade?
Upgrade? Tube is not an upgrade or a downgrade. It's what works best for you and your situation. It's not fashion, it's practicality. What do you use your rifle for, plinking only during daylight hours? Why would you need a rail at all if that's all you use it for? Does a tube work better for you than a quadrail when you're shooting? Do you constantly move sh*t around on your gun or do you pretty much have everything set? Do you just want a tube or just want a quadrail? Some guys have the Magpul handguards with a light and sling attachment and love it.

It's not fashion, it's what works best for you.

I am currently doing the same, although I added a front sight rail for a light. It's very light and does the job.

I went from a YHM tube to a YHM quad rail. The tube heated up when shooting fast and the quad rail stays cooler.

What kinda quad rails were you guys using to say that it's so much lighter with tube handguards? Don't get me wrong, I own a JP rifle length and multiple name brand quad rails and there really isn't that much difference to notice. Is it easier to grab? Yes and no. I get much better grip with quads but it's more comfortable with a tube.

Find it amazing what once was a combat weapon is now a "fashion, bling, or mission critical weapon".

If going into combat set it up for that, if setting up for bling bragging rights please dont scratch it while loitering on the 50/100 yard line.

If you want accuracy out to 1000 get a long barrel/float tube and decent scope (you dont need a nightforce or U.S. optices scope) or micrometer sights and learn how to read wind and timed/rapid fire with a sling.

Your choice, Bling at short range or sling at long range where you can learn something.

What if I bedazzle my sling, so I get the bling and have the best of both worlds?
